§ Maintain Class 100 cleanroom for fluoride glass melting.
§ Calculate and perfect base and doped glass compositions.
§ Batch and melt bulk fluoride glass in glovebox using reactive atmosphere processing (RAP).
§ Optimize melting schedule of bulk glass.
§ Characterize glass and preforms with respect to bulk defects and sub-micron scatter.
§ Assist in casting of fluoride glass preforms.
§ Sublime raw materials for ultra-high purity.
§ Operate and maintain furnaces:
